Case Notes

The case notes are summaries of complaints and their outcomes.  You can browse the case notes on this page. 

We also publish an annual collection of case notes in an A4 book.  You can e-mail us to request copies, or view and download a PDF file of the 2010 or 2011 editions.

While the Commissioner is not bound by previous decisions, the case notes can give you an idea of the likely outcome of a particular type of complaint.

The case notes on this site are grouped by date of publication, not date of decision.  Case notes about Consumer Guarantees Act cases are grouped together.

The companies are not named, and complainant names have been changed.
